Photo 1 of 2....Our children were tired of not being happy with their school photos so this year I took a stab at it.

Photo 2 of 2...I simply used a blue bed sheet as a backdrop. Difused the flash using a coffee filter, a few tricks with Photoshop and here we are. Both these photos were taken using my 50mm lens. 1/125th at f9.0 with ISO set at 800. Comments appreciated.
